Schoolfield Mitigation Property

The Schoolfield property is located in Dillon County, South Carolina, along the Lumber River. EC&D conducted a thorough site investigation to determine the suitability of the site for a mitigation bank. After a thorough site investigation, EC&D submitted a prospectus to the Army Corps of Engineers - Charleston District to begin the process of creating a mitigation bank.

The restoration of this site will include a review the current silvicultural activities to determine which activities will be altered. The existing wetlands and wetland buffers will be enhanced by reintroducing the vegetative community structure that existed prior to silvicultural activity. The proposed hydrologic enhancements will include removal of roads in wetlands and the installation of low water crossings where the remaining forest roads bisect wetlands.
